LPI offers an option for trained technicians to assist with the start-up and installation of your LPI industrial lifts which includes training for both your operators and your maintenance personnel. This service is also available after the sale as a refresher or augmentation to your current training or maintenance program. Each lift type is different in design and has different requirements. These can be found in the Maintenance and Inspection section of the Operators Manual. If you do not have a copy of this, contact LPI Customer Service to obtain one. In addition to following the maintenance schedule in the O & M Manual it is highly recommended by LPI that you have your lifts inspected by an LPI trained technician annually to insure safe operation and maximum life from your lift systems.
Installation instructions are located in the Operators Manual that comes with your lift system (located in the plastic holder in the operator platform). Lifts should only be installed by qualified personnel. If you have any questions with regard to the installation of your lifts, please contact LPI customer service or call 1-800-657-6956.
This information is located on the cover page of the supplied manual. If you do not have a copy of the manual the location will vary depending on the type of lift and when it was manufactured. On older model multi-axis mast lifts the serial plate may be located in the base near the Filter/Regulator/Lubricator or under the base cover. On newer versions of industrial lifts the serial plate can be found in the operator platform. On scissors lifts it may be located in either the operator platform on the control console, the toeboard or on the base near the Filter /Regulator/Lubricator.
Your lift comes with a copy of the manual. This should be found in the plastic case located in the operator platform. If the manual is missing, locate the serial number plate on your lift, record the model number and serial number and please contact LPI customer service or call 1-800-657-6956 with this information. It may be possible to email you a digital copy of the file.

Yes! LPI can design and build custom lift solutions. Most of what is presented on the website are standard products and some custom products. Every application is a little different and we can accommodate most requests for customization. LPI has been designing and manufacturing industrial lift systems and man lifts for over 40 years and has extensive experience modifying and customizing fall protection lift systems to fit specific applications.
LPI has a Worksheet that will help you gather information that will assist you and LPI in determining the best fit for your application. To start with, you need to look at your process and see where your workers are either placing themselves in an unsafe position, having to frequently reposition themselves to do their job or just need the ability to move faster. This applies to all aspects of the manufacturing process from welding, grinding, washing and painting to placing the load on a truck.
Next, look at the interior size of your booth, along with the smallest and largest products you put through the booth, How much clearance is available around the largest product when it is in the booth and how far in towards the center would a worker have to reach, from the side of the booth, to reach the smallest part? This helps to determine if or how much horizontal extension you would need. This is referred to as the Y-Axis travel.
Next, look at the height of your tallest product. Is it positioned on a cart or conveyor system? Does the worker need to reach the top of the product? This will help you to determine the maximum raised platform height that will be needed so that your worker can reach all of the work surfaces they need to address. This is called the Z-Axis travel. Something to keep in mind is that you need a minimum of 6 feet of space between the maximum raised platform height and the ceiling of the booth so you are not running your worker into the ceiling. You need also to look at any fixtures or sprinkler heads that may be hanging from the ceiling and take them into consideration.
Now, look at the length of your longest product as compared to the lengthwise space you have available. When the longest product is in the area, how much space is left between the end of the product and the end of the travel area? Does your worker need to reach the entire end of the product or if they were positioned along the side of the product could they reach out and take care of the process? If you choose a lift system that has a powered drive to move it lengthwise in the area, the X-Axis travel, there are a couple things to consider. A lift with a powered drive needs a guide rail on the floor and/or wall, to insure that it travels in a straight line. If it is a multi-axis lift system the booth needs to have adequate structure to support the lift being mounted to the wall. In addition, any lift that can move lengthwise in the area needs a means of getting the air and other utility lines to the lift, as it moves. This requires either hose reels, or a festooning system. Festooning can be accomplished with either trolleys on an overhead track or on the upper rail or with a flexible plastic track in a tray.

Several factors come into play when choosing a lift system for your application. With a Scissor lift the primary movement is Up & Down (Z-Axis), but variations are available where they are either in a fixed position, manually positioned by rolling them around, or have a powered drive base to move them in a straight line along a guiderail (X-Axis travel). A Multi-Axis lift system typically has 3-Axis of movement, Up & Down (Z-Axis), Left & right along a wall or product (X-Axis), and In & Out horizontally from the wall towards the center of the area (Y-axis travel).
